An Update, and 10 Things

Good morning, Readers. I hope you all had a wonderbubble weekend. I had a great time on our mini-vacay (post and pics to come) but then spent pretty much all of Sunday hurting from my tube and watching movies. Pretty sure the owner of Red Box paid his mortgage this month from how many movies I’ve rented alone this week, no kidding. I watched He’s Just Not that into You, Fired Up!, Passengers, High School Musical 3 (1 ½ times, yes, my two year old really enjoys the show, haha) and not to mention like 4 episodes of Law & Order SVU. I still have Grand Torino and New in Town to watch, but seriously ran out of hours in the day. I was so lazy, and I usually feel guilty being lazy, but really I don’t this time because I hurt and whatever it just felt nice. Back to the daily grindage today, so no more laziness.

Getting my tube taken out today after work!! Isn’t that fantastic? It really made having a fun time this weekend hard, and it gave me the pukies Friday night, (poor Bran had to go to a gas station in the middle of the night in Green River to get me Coke and some Pepto Bismol) and I have eczema and hives on my face from the reaction to it and really I swear I’ll stop complaining in all my posts once this thing comes out. But really I’m so excited to get it out…tight shirts and bikinis, here I come! ;)

10 things lately that makes me happy:
1.The return of Project Runway on August 20th!
2. The ump in Iowa that kicked out the whole crowd of spectators during a high school baseball game, I mean really, how unruly can a crowd get at a high school baseball game?
3. Scooby Doo fruit snacks.
4. My nieces.
5. My little darlin’ C that kisses my tummy better.
6. My parents coming home from their 3 year mission call at the end of this month.(FINALLY.)
7. Making tube-less plans.
8. So You Think You Can Dance. I call it SYTYCD, which sounds like an awfully juicy STD, seriously.
9. Racher being in town.
10. My blog; all of you.

What makes you happy?

Just curious (if you have already discussed this before I apologize), but is it kind of weird watching the model reality shows, having been in the business yourself? How realistic are they? Does it make you miss it a tiny bit or does it make you very glad you've moved on? Sorry if these are invasive questions, just curious about your thoughts.

Take care!

I have not thought about what makes me happy for seriously so long because my life has been so much about how to make my missionaries happy! So, its a fun thought to think maybe i can ask myself that Q. However, i am so happy when my kids are happy. Truly makes my day!

Hey Cammy, watching the reality model TV shows is no longer a trigger for me, though I'll admit at one point they kind of were. Project Runway is more focused on making clothes than on the models themselves; but on ANTM for instance, so many of the challenges are more for the viewers entertainment than actually pertain to what a model would really do in reality. I find this hilarious, and a lot of times can relate, and mostly feel bad for the models. :)

Every once in a while it makes me miss it, mostly when I watch a runway show, but other than that, I usually watch it and think "OMG I'm so glad that's not me!"

I think it's so funny (cute?) that one of the main reasons you want the tube out is so you can wear TIGHT SHIRTS. Hahaha, you little ho. ;)

Yay for getting the tube out today!

What makes me happy: I just bought a Wii!!

So, once they take out the tubage, you'll, like, have a hole in your belly, right? How do they close it up? Obviously, a bandaid won't work....I'm just curious, cuz it's not that little of a hole!!!

Yo, they're called stitches, HAFC. ;)

brie said...

actually, they don't stitch it, or even butterfly bandage it, or anything. they just straight up pulled it out and put gauze over it. they said that fat in my stomach would make the hole "congeal." yeah, i wanted to vomit when he said that, too. :)

Ewwwwwww, congealed stomach?? OK, I hope it actually closes! The word "congeal" is so gross.

Wow.....then it must take a bit of time for it to congeal...ewwww....that is a nasty word. I hope it happens fast, though, for ya!

Aww, those are awesome happy things! =)

A few things make me happy, but one in particular - mine and my mum's midnight/late night chats. I love talking to her, and sharing my thoughts and feelings. It's really great for our relationship with each other, too.

BTW, I love SYTYCD, and Scooby Doo fruit snacks. Wicked awesome happy things though - all of them. =)

Also, I must say, reading your blog is really helping me through my days. I just wanted to tell you that, and thank you. It really does help me in a small way, when dealing with such hard things.

oh yeah, I'm here. We need to figure out when we can do fun stuff especially now that you are officially sans tube.

I've never before wished that Hallmark made a "I Hope Your Abdomen Congeals Soon" card. If they did, I'd send one your way. Feel better soon, Brie!

Hey, Brie! If you're feeling better and have some time in your summer, I was possibly planning a trip down your way. Maybe we could find some time to hang out!

Take care! I'm so glad to hear that the tube is out! Congeal soon! :)

love, kristin
