#8: Try a yoga class with Brandon

Well friends, first item on the list is crossed off! Last night Brandon and I went to my yoga class. Brandon was a noob with this whole yoga thing, so I willed myself to not make fun of him and his hairy-ness. He used my orange mat (I pouted) while I used my old pink one. For the entire 60 minutes, he gave it his all – I did not, for last night’s class was all about upper arm strength and Breezy is bereft of the biceps.

A little Q&A with the hubster:

Me: So honey, did you like yoga?
Brandon: Surprisingly, yeah. It really wasn’t that bad.
Me: Will you ever go again?
Brandon: Sure. Line up a babysitter and we can go every Wednesday night if you want. I guess…well, I guess I just wish the class wasn’t so long. Like maybe only 15 minutes instead of 60?
Me: Did you feel insecure like maybe that everyone was staring at you the way I was staring at you?  And like crying because they were trying so hard not to laugh or poke at you?
Brandon: Nah. At first I was nervous people were going to look at me, but then I realized they’d probably be looking behind me at the giant dude in the belly shirt that wasn’t supposed to be a belly shirt that was even worse than me. If that’s possible.
Me: When your shorts slid up and your freaky-white man thighs were showing, did you feel like a pansy?
Brandon: Ouch.
Me: LOVE YOU!
Brandon: And what was with the whole “May the peace of India be upon you?” And the “Namaste” thing? And now we bow to each other? A little weird.
Me: Whatever. My soul, is, like, connected to everyone else’s in that room. It’s SPIRITCHAL. Didn’t you love our adorable yoga teacher?
Brandon: I know, right? She’s so teensy! I kinda wanna put her in my pocket and take her home with me!
Me: And do what, exactly?
Brandon: Er. Um.
Me: Maybe you should leave Polly Pocket at the gym, okay? Girlfriend’s getting territorial.
Brandon: Love you! Let’s make love!
Me: You wish! Namaste!

On to the next great adventure...

LOL. I have been meaning to start a yoga class here, but every morning I plan to go something seems to come up. I have the Biggest Loser yoga DVD, which is ok, but Bob's bod majorly distracts me with rather unclean thoughts that rather seem to negate the goal of polishing my spiritchal bits...

Cammy! Ahahaha! Is Bob shirtless? Is Bob shirtless? MUST.COMPRAR.DVD.

No but his shirt does ride up a lil bit to show the abs and treasure trail on some of the stretches and it is SUCH tease! Lord my labmate is going to wonder why I just started having to fan myself...

Yay! I can't wait :-)

And in case Brandon is reading this and thinks I just want to laugh at him: the boys in my yoga class are often the best in the class! So it's not so much I want something to laugh at as it is I want something to smile at :-)

[laughing very hard right now]

Okay, it's kinda funny that you should mention doing yoga with Brandon, cuz about a couple weeks ago I mentioned it to Timothy. We live in a high rise in downtown Bellevue (near Seattle), and they have an AWESOME state of the art gym and they offer yoga, pilates, and tons of other stuff that I used to always consider garbage. Anyway, I jokingly asked T if he'd join me in a class one evening and he actually said sure. I laughed and told him I was joking, but did manage to tell him how kind it was of him to be willing to do something so, ummm, girly with me. Soooooo.....I might just take him up on his willingness just to have a good laugh. Not at him, of course, but a laugh in general cuz we'd both look inecredibly inept and retarded. : ) So happy for you guys and that Brandon liked it! Wahoo Brandon...you rock!

heather, you and timothy should totally do it! it's fun to have a new experience that you've never had with your hubby - shakes things up a bit! ;)

I think I would have to do major bribe-age to make my hubby go to yoga (which for some unknown reason I have always called Foga). I really want to see pics!

It surely WOULD shake things up a bit! Bwahaha! I've got a lot more lower arm hang-age and a booty that I'm a bit nervous to stick into the air! Plus, Timothy farts a lot and I just KNOW he'll let out a loooouuud one right in front of everyone. He'll probably run from the room and I'd just bust out laughing pretending like I didn't know him! : ) I'm going to tell him Brandon did it and liked it. Hmmm....this could prove to be quite exciting.

Totally unrelated: I burned the shit out of the roof of my mouth on a Hot Pocket today, and it made me think of you immediately. Apparently I am one of those dummies we talked about that needs to read the warning on the box so as not to damage myself with my lunch. Just FYI.
