If I blogged when I was 9, I'd say...

December 7, 1992

I feel sad when it was 1941 for those Japanese people I am glad I was born in 1984 but I'm not Japanese anyway.

When I was five my friend came to visit me in the hospital because I got my apendix out.  Anyway my best friend B was so sad that I was in the hospital that she could never stop crying and she didn't go and see me for a long time because she didn't want to see me with toobs in my nose.  So finally when she came to see me she thought I was going to ie.  She was really nice to me - until I got out of the hospital.  The end.

For Christmas I got a watch, gymnastic mat, Belle dressup, Beast dressup, makeup, makeup case, backpack, lotsa trolls, See's chocolates, a reindeer carousel that goes up and down and plays music it could break easy and I got it and my family got a Sega Genesis and we got Sonic and the Hedge Hog it's a game.  That's all folks, smile!

Yesterday we got out of school because of a snow storm and it didn't effect me at all in fact I loved it.  I played in the snow for 5 hours all together me and my family made a slide as tall as my sister Misty and that is tall.  And that night Mom took us to Aladdin and then my sister's boyfriend came over.  His name is Stacy and he is black.  (Apparently that was important.)

I take it these are old journal entries? I know those well. I was the archivist. As in, every word of every conversation I felt was at all important, whatsoever I wrote down, verbatim. I once filled two paper notebooks in a month, this way.

Not related to this entry, but I thought of you in church this morning when the (guest) pastor reminded us that we had to be vulnerable to our communities, and that none of us are above needing the help of those around us. <3

I love it! Now I wish I'd been better at keeping a diary when I was little so that I could do a copycat post (and have fun re-reading my diary).

:-)

ooh! I'm going to do one too. Thanks for letting me copy you, (I assume when you read this you will let me copy, and I am thanking you in advance...)

Oh wow... That's quite the set of journal entries from back in the day... P.S. I didn't know you did gymnastics... Do you think that there is any sort of correlation between having done gymnatics and your development of an eating disorder? It seems as though MANY people I know who have an eating disorder, also have a background in gymnastics.

Anyhow... I think you should post about your background in gymnastics sometime in the very near future.

XOXO,
-L

Ha ha ha! I'm going to have to go back and look at my old journals. I remember once all I wrote was "Michelle (my sister) didn't want to write in her journal tonight." *laughs*

This post made me smile. The only time I was an avid journal writer was in elementary school - I should go find those old journals sometime....
