Magnificent Maintenance

So I saw the D yesterday for the first time in almost a month. As I stepped on the scale, I had this mantra in my head that I was repeating over and over: THINKHEAVYTHOUGHTS THINKHEAVYTHOUGHTS THINKHEAVYTHOUGHTS
…and…
…Guess who maintained her weight for almost a month?? Oh, just me.

Just amazing, glorious me.

That’s the bomb-big ass-diggity right there! Seriously. Do we all realize what a huge feat that is for me? It’s so hard for me to have the appetite to feel hungry enough to feed my amazon 5’11" frame. I have a metabo like some hardcore athelete or something, maybe like Lance Armstrong cuz he was like, “Ooh, I’ll be all ‘be strong’ and beat cancer and win that big ‘ol french race a bunch!” and that’s pretty tight. Anyway what I mean to say is that I bet we have identical metabos. And rock hard bods.

So even though I was like high for a week from surgery this month and didn’t eat all that great during that week, I still maintained. Forget gainage folks, I mean, that’s still totally a goal, but this is quite the milestone for this mama.

Hey, good for you! For me, getting healthier means the pounds are going down, but I still know how good it feels to hit a milestone.

Maintaining is HUGE, Brie! I'm so proud of you for helping your body recover. Do you still have the tube or is is just food now? I'm tellin' ya....Jamba Juice's P-nut butter moo-ed smoothies are, like, the most awesome thing to drink....and it just so happens to have the most calories (now, don't be too scared, it's still not a ton). Way back when I had to gain Out patient, Jamba Juice did the trick and to this day, I owe them......or perhaps they owe me????? I should get like a life-time gift card for recovering off of their dang smoothies!!!! I higly recoomend it sista!

Stay cool and feel high in the knowledge that you did awesome this month!!! Keep it up girl!

Brie, I am so impressed!! This is great!!! With all that you had going on during the holiday season/surgery/etc, this is an amazing accomplishment and a testament to your hard work. I loved the Jamba Juice suggestion--I personally owe at least 5 lbs to Starbucks frappuccinos myself :) so much better than JJ! Anyway, I'm sure you have your own methodologies--keep working hard, and thanks for sharing your accomplishment with us! I loved that you did because it can sometimes be hard to view this type of thing as an accomplishment, but let me remind you that it IS!

sarah, you bring up a really good point. i believe this is basically the first time EVER i've been thrilled about the maintenance. it feels good to do something positive and right.

and yeah, heather, i totally remember our trip to jamba juice - you getting the pb thing and me getting my peach pleasure! i should to the pb moo'd more...but it can get pricy...but 'tis true. it's like drinking boost but way more fun and good, haha!

Hey Brie, It's been FOREVER since I've had a minute to sit down and actually respond to blogs (my arms are occupied by this little dude 99.9% of the day so all I can do is read) but just wanted to say that you rock! I know there can be conflicting feelings when you start maintaining (or gaining), for me I would feel relieved and happy and anxious and freaked out and everything else at the same time. But keep on going, it is so worth it!
