Rubberbanding

Nothing chews up and spits out (then takes a dump on) your self-esteem more than the phenomenon knows are “RUBBERBANDING YOUR PANTS.” Yes, ‘tis true. One pair of work pants suffocates Baby when I button them, and thus they remain unzipped and unbuttoned, only held together with a rubber-band. Sadness.

I thought about taking a picture and posting it but that would strip me of the little dignity I’m clinging to. Sorry. A mental picture is all you get.

I’m going to go buy some maternity pants now.

They have these things for maternity where it looks like a shirt but is really a kind of tube top that you can put around just your pants/belly and it just looks like your wearing an undershirt. You can wear it before or after the pregancy in that transition stage when you can't button your pants. It sounds ugly but it's really not. Let me see if I can find a picture...

Okay. It's called the "Bella Band". It is on the Expecting Maternity Website too!! I hope you don't block me from your blog list for suggesting it (if you think they're a fashion no-no). I haven't been pregnant before, but I think they're pretty cool, and it will save you money on clothes. :)

And they have lace-lined ones too.

FYI I was watching a TiVo'd episode of 'Castle' from last week, and in one scene his daughter is trying to guess the name of a model that he met at a party. You know the second name she tried? Brie!

I too have used the rubberband, until one day it snapped. Then, later on, my little string bikini undies snapped while I was wearing them (and i didnt notice until they fell OUT of my pant leg). See what all you have to look forward to?
