If you look up "cinnamon challenge" on youtube, you will find a myriad of folks who think they can beat it. But they can't. It's impossible.
Brett, the twin brother, is incredibly smart. Logical. Level-headed. And I'm kinda scratching my head right now, because every once in awhile, he does the stupidest things you could ever imagine. (Any old high school buddies remember when he and his friends were voted "Boner of the Month" on X96 for "hazing"?)
So Brett and his buddy Jonny decided they were going to step up to the cinnamon challenge (which consists of putting an entire tablespoon of cinnamon in your mouth at once and swallowing it without spitting it out). Seems easy, right? Apparently not, as the cinnamon turns to paste and coats your throat and nasal passages and elicits a pretty immediate inability to breathe.
Brett's friend captured about 1 1/2 minutes (is all) of the about 30 minute ordeal, so you will miss the projectile vomiting, (which is still frozen in his backyard, by the way) and the blowing their noses and having cinnamon snot, etc, but you will laugh (a lot) I'm sure.
Check out Brett 'n Ang's blog to see the video.
Brett is the one on the right in the vid, and Jonny is on the left...

hm.. of all the challenges.. i would not try this one..
watched a couple of friends try the 6 saltine crackers in 60 seconds though.. at least it's not spicy.. but that one can also definitely not be done.
You know cinnamon is toxic in large doses, right? Be careful, Brie's twin! Actually there are two types of "cinnamon" plants, the true ceylon cinnamon, Ceylon zeylanicum, and Cassia "cinnamon" Cinnamomum aromaticum, which has a more appealing name but really is an entirely different plant from true cinnamon. They do have great similarities chemically, though and much of what is sold in stores is this type. You can tell the difference by looking at the way the cinnamon stick rolls. If it's one roll like a scroll, that's the true stuff, and if it curls in from both edges, it's the Cinnamomum.
Ok, we now end this Nerdbreak.
Ok, lied, one more nerdbreak: if you like to play with spices, nutmeg is a hallucinogen in large doses.
I've been one of the stupid people who has considered trying this.. because, really, ONE MEASLY TABLESPOON?! HOW HARD CAN IT BE? Now....okay you've convinced me not to try it - I am afraid of throwing up and choking to death.
