Suck Balls - the Hospital Calls...

I'm here. I'm stuck. On the 8th floor of a medical ward. I sure would appreciate ya'll sending me your prayers and good vibes and positive karma and well wishes and gifts and emails and dirty jokes and texts in c/o of the Briester. Not much news yet. I'm going to get an NJ tube shortly (this is different than an NG tube in that they stick it down in your intestines rather than just stomach) so, as you can imagine, I'm just thrilled. Hear they're serving chicken for dinner.

I'm sorry you're in the hospital Brie! I'll try to come up with some good jokes for you:-)

Why the NJ tube? And are you going to be out by Friday?! You look hot, rockin' it in that hospital gown.

Unknown said...

Serious bummer. Good luck with it all. I'll be sending you weight gaining vibes.

Um, just got the NJ. I had to swallow a ton of Barium that weighs a ton...it's some kind of heavy mineral or something. For reals just gained like 4 lbs!! They also numbed by left nostril and throat, and I can't feel anything...and I'm grumpy, and life sucks. Hopefully I'll be out by Sat or so...

Unknown said...

ON the bright side...Four pounds down, just a bit more to go, right? ;)(don't kill me for that)

Seriously, sorry you gotta do this.

That's THIS Saturday, right? And do you have to leave with the NJ tube?

I really was serious when I said you looked hot. I'm jealous, yo.

By the way, you get the internets at the hospital? Hmmm. I'm noting that down for the next time I have to be in the hospital -- uh, not that I have any plans.

I'm so sorry Brie. Being in the hospital SUCKS, but at the same time I'm so proud of you for doing the right thing. NJ tubes really aren't that different, besides the pain of some radiologist wiggling it around until it finally lands in the right spot. They'll probably make you run it longer because your intestines can't hold as much volume as your stomach, but at the same time it helps with the digestion and blotation (like my new word?). Are you at the big new hospital? I can't think of any other hospital with 8 floors. Do you have any idea how long you'll be there? I'm there every week for my OB appointments so let me know if you want visitors! I don't know about you, but boredom and confinement definitely don't help my anxiety--in fact being stuck in those hospital beds nearly drove me insane! Try to stay busy with anything and everything you can get your hands on--books, movies, playing with Cade, Sudoku, naps, etc. Hang in there, you are one tough girl!

sorry hon. I do agree that you rock that hospital gown HOT though. if that made any sense. Sending good vibes your way (I'd pray for you if that's something I did)

Hang in there my dear - who can I go to Kneaders with when you're locked up and MIA? That's what I thought. I'd love to see a picture of you escaping out the emergency exit doors flying precariously on two wheels of your IV pole...just picture it for a minute...and, you've just got yourself a pole...for who knows what sorts of oodles o fun.

I'm not saying you should escape...just that that would be a pretty sweet story to tell the mass fans.

Love you darling

Oh...on a random side note..your hair is magnificent but I'm wondering how you can deal with the bangs in the eyes problem...thats basically the only reason I don't have bangs right now - they drove me crazy!

Share your worldly wisdom oh Brie-ster...

That is all

hey there, new to your blog, just sending some good karma. props on gettin help! and as per request, a dirty joke:

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"

I am really, seriously sorry you're having a hard time, but at the same time I'm really, seriously proud of you for taking steps that are hard as hell to help get yourself back on track. You are definitely in my thoughts, keep your head high and remember that you are worth fighting for.

I'm sorry you have to be in the hospital :( I had a funny memory today...maybe it will cheer you up a little. So, I was watching a show today and they were talking about movie The Bodyguard and it made me think of when we were little and we made up dances to The Bodyguard soundtrack...which then made me remember making up dances to Ace of Base and also pretending we were in the movie Saturday's Warrior...hahaha! Oh good times. I hope things go well for you I will be praying for you!

That sucks, Brie. Really sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. Hang in there, take it one day at a time, and know that this too will pass. We're all rooting for you, and we know you can pull through this. Sending positive vibes your way.

You should just approach the experience as more rich material for "From Behind Bars." Perhaps a pictoral guide to life behind bars. Mmm. Does your hospital have food you can order off the menu? I had surgery once on my stomach and couldn't eat for 13 days and at the end of the experience they made me eat HOSPITAL food, even though I was craving everything under the sun. After I did their lame chicken broth and jello diet for a day, they let me try "real" food. A kindly nurse recommended I try the pizza and I still to this day haven't had a better slice. I doubt it was actually good, but after 13 days...

Hey Brie, that sucks that you have to be in the hospital. I HATE hospitals. I've been reading your blog for a few months and I LOVE it. Sorry I haven't commented before this, I know you like comments.

Here's my favorite joke of all time:

What do you call a cow who has just given birth?

Hey Brie! Here's the joke:
A man is driving down a country road, when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.

The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?"

The farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize."

"How?" asks the man, puzzled.

"Well, I heard they give the Nobel Prize . . . to people who are out standing in their field."

Love you!

Hang in there Briester! Bummer on the hospitalage and tubage. To be honest though, I liked the NJ's better than the NG's. Not sure exactly why, they just "felt" better. Hope the same is true for you and hope no one is an idiot in the hospital. Sometimes those people are f'ing stupid.

Hang in there!

Update, update, UPDATE! But uh, no pressure or anything. ;)

brie said...

Hi all, I promise an update soon - perhaps tomorrow. I just seem to be quite down, and I can't put my finger on why. I'm thrilled to be out of the hospital...I suppose I'm just feeling glum and a little helpless/hopeless. Plus, I don't feel great - major tummy and throat issues, which is the main reason I was admitted in the first place. I promise I'll be in Blog Land again soon...

I'm glad you're out, babe. I hope you feel better soon. xoxo
