New House Adventure Week 14

Today we met with some V.P. of something or other for our builder, and had a walk-through the house to make sure all the plumbing and electrical was installed, etc, and that everything was going as planned.

Everything went great - while we were there, they were putting in the insulation, and we were told that on Wendesday they are going to start throwing up sheet-rock.  He also gave us no concrete dates or set anything in stone, but he said the home should probably be done in 6-8 weeks.  I am floored.  Could I really be moving into my dream house in SIX WEEKS???  It's so completely unreal to me!

I really should get crackin on how I'm going to decorate the house, etc, as the time that we will be moving is rapidly approaching - it seems like it's happening even faster than I thought!  When we were first comtemplating buying or building a home, all of this seemed so far off to me, and almost like it would never really happen.  But now it is real and HERE and actually happening.  I am thrilled but also a little in shock I think!  I don't know what my poor little self is going to do, not living in a basement.  Somehow I think I'll survive!  ;)

Anyway, here are a few shots:

They installed our windows, and as I was taking this picture, they were putting on the...er...I have no idea what it's called...trim?  By the roof?  I'm sure there's an actual real name for it, but I have no idea!

Istalled the sliding glass door in our bay window.  Once again, I want to hump this.  It is so beautiful and I can't stop raving about how much light it's going to put in the house!

Another window shot, this time in the family room.

Awesome butt shot going up the stairs.  And no, usually going out to see the house is not a black-tie affair.  ;)  We had just come from a party.  :)

I swear I was happier than I look.  Candid shots are not always very good, heh.

A view of our bedroom.  You can't tell, but the ceiling is vaulted, and I heart it.

The shingles on our roof.  I love the bluish hue they have!

One last view, as we were getting ready to drive off.

I am excited, because by next week's installments, we will have doors and the beginning of actual walls and even the start of stucco.  Woohoo!

Hooray hooray! Thank goodness for websites like pinterest and houzz to provide kernels of inspiration for decorating. I'm sure it'll be beautiful.
