Doctor Delicious

Totally had my seriouslysuperscary (alliteration: 3 points!) appointment with my doc today. I hadn’t seen him in a few months, but was pleasantly surprised to find he was as delicious as ever. (Pretty sure he paid his way through med school with some male modeling. Hotttt.) He was so nice to me, too, which was SO WEIRD. I’m always expecting everybody to be mad at me since I suck or whatever at maintaining my weight. But maybe he was as deliciously excited to see me (?) as I was him?? (Just kidding Honey!) (You know how it goes.) At any rate, he like smiled at me and only mentioned the hospital twice instead of like nine times. He basically told me I met all the requirements for admission, but as long as I was seeing my treatment team weekly and gaining weight, then it wouldn’t be necessary as long as I MADE IT WORK (go Tim Gunn!) and didn’t need the tube again, (like after this second time) otherwise that so wouldn’t fly with him. I was so glad he was the bearer of good tidings today, otherwise I might have had to bitch slap him, and in return, pretty sure I’d have been karmically put down or something, no kidding. So Doc Delicious definitely sated me. So to speak.

I am glad you don't have to go to the hospital, but I really hope you have an easier time gaining weight going forward. The stress can't be easy and definitely not fun.

totally off topic... how did you deal with the body changes of pregnancy. I am having a way harder this time and going a little crazy...
you can email me back if you don't want to respond here.

I'm happy that you do not have to go to the hospital. Hospitals are no fun. I hope the weight gain becomes easier, both body-wise and mind-wise.

I like your drawing. :)

My docs were all women. Though quite attractive, I'm sure, I lean more toward the mens in that respect. I'm envious.

You might want to work on your stick figure drawings...

So Bran was just looking at the pic I drew, and he was laughing cuz in my stick figure sad anorexia one, there's a gap in the leg, and he remarked that it was probably from osteoporosis. How fun that I didn't even try to do that!

Stace Face, body changes during pregnancy were def hard, but since I haven't yet been impregnated a second time, I have nothing to compare it to. maybe it's harder for you now because you know what to expect? Hang in there, and we should email.

I love your pics! How did you draw them onto your page?

I see in your first pic that you do have osteoporosis, but in the second you seem to have a dislocated shoulder. JK JK JK!!! I hope things get easier for you and you can once again have a hospital evasion, but only if you keep it up... the good work and the weight.

Hey, dear Brie
Thanks for giving me a laugh today, also. I really needed it and I so love your pics. You are very cute and your body is so cute. Kind of remeinds me of a peanut, but a cute one! Thanks for working through so much stuff and finding a way to adjust and even laugh. Kind of like filnding "Joy in the Journey"? Go Joy!!

Don't you love when people give you a chance? The curly do and drawing have made my much too early morning a little better.

I'm so glad the illustration I so childlishly made with the Paint program is a smash success. I should definitely hone my skills and continue with this endeavor. New hobby, here I come!

So just got an email from my T, she had asked me to email her after my appt with Doc Delicious, and I told her kind of what I said to you all - how I was thoroughly surprised to find he wasn't ticked off at me. She said something along the lines of, "I'm hoping seeing that will help you to trust people more; to just know that they want to help you and you're not in trouble." --I was scared my D would be mad too, but wasn't. But then I explained to her that in the past I've had treatment teams who basically just said gain weight and maintain it or we'll fire you from dietary and therapy, and it made me so ticked to have an ultimatum, I didn't do it. And then they just left me and gave up on me. And you know what? It feels really good to finally have a team who'll stick with me. Go them!

I am glad you have such a supportive team Brie. And supportive family. AND supportive friends. Geez, we all have you covered :) Do you want to do dinner this week? I will do my part to ensure/boost (ha ha get it?) that you resemble the SECOND figure in your wonderful, artistic painting. :) Love you lesbian lover!

Dear Brie,

If there was (realistic) good news to be had, this is it!!

Forget photographs, stick figures are the new 'thing', huh?

Very cute.

With warmth....

I sooo understand having a feeding tube. I had one surgically placed in my belly and have been doing tube feedings at night for almost 4 years, now. It's a lot easier than eating. That's fantastic that you are trying to eat more! And yeah, I totally know what you mean about having a treatment team that backs you in the corner and says to either go in the hospital, or they just won't see you anymore...had that happen to me several times. Finally found a doc who would actually work with me. I'm glad you found a treatment team that is supportive of you and doesn't give you ultimatums! Keep up the good fight!! I'm rooting for you!

As this is my first post...I've been reading your blog for a month or two and LOVE it! Always brings a smile to my face! Especially the pics of Little C...could he get any cuter??? :)
